Bayern Munich eye Manchester United wantaway

Bayern Munich have entered the race to sign Manchester United forward Anthony Martial this summer, claims Calciomercato.

Martial has reportedly turned down United’s attempts to secure his long-term future and will look to leave this summer.

The France international will not be short of suitors if United are forced to cash in on the 22-year-old and Bayern are monitoring his future.

Juventus have also been heavily linked with a move for the United No.11, who has failed to completely win over Jose Mourinho in the last two years.

Martial is a fan favourite at United but wants regular playing time and is prepared to leave Old Trafford in order to find it.

Alexis Sanchez’s arrival from Arsenal at the start of the year has only reinforced the fact Martial will struggle to nail down a regular starting berth under Mourinho.

Martial has only started 16 Premier League matches this season, forced to make a further 11 appearances from the bench.

Despite a lack of regular playing time, the Frenchman has scored nine goals and provided five assists.

No player in Europe’s top five leagues this season has scored and assisted more goals than Martial (6).
