FC Porto have rejected a £37.6m bid from Tottenham for star winger Luis Diaz, reports the Guardian.
The final week of the January transfer window is expected to be a busy one for Spurs, who are looking to wrap up deals for Adama Traore and Sofyan Amrabat.
Diaz, who also has Premier League admirers in the form of Liverpool and Manchester United, has now emerged as a key target for Spurs.
However, they will need to increase their opening offer, which Porto have rejected as they wait for a bid closer to his £66m release clause.
The Portuguese powerhouse are keen to retain Diaz's services with the 25-year-old in excellent form for Porto this season.
The Colombian is currently the best rated player in Liga Bwin with a WhoScored rating of 7.90, while only Darwin Nunez (15) has scored more goals than Diaz (14) in Portugal's top tier this term.
