The agent of Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian has revealed clubs from Italy have been in contact but Jose Mourinho will not let him leave this month.
Damian has dropped down the pecking order under Mourinho and seemingly has no future at Old Trafford after struggling to convince since his arrival more than two years ago.
The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a return to Italy to join the likes of Juventus and Napoli but his agent, Tullio Tinti, has revealed the versatile defender is not for sale.
“I haven’t had any calls from Roma for the player,” he told Rete Sport, via Football Italia. “There has been contact with other Serie A teams, but not with the Giallorossi. For the moment the lad isn’t for sale.”
Damian reserved his best performance in a United shirt during last season’s Europa League final but there haven’t been too many other positives for the 28-year-old since becoming a Red Devil.
In fact, United have a far superior win ratio (58.1%) when Darmian has not started in the Premier League under Mourinho compared to the 17 games he has started (41.2%).
