Liverpool target offered new deal

RB Leipzig have offered Timo Werner a new contract that includes an exit clause for some of the biggest clubs in the world, claims BILD.

Werner has entered the final 18 months of his existing Leipzig contract and has already been heavily linked with summer moves to the likes of Borussia Dortmund,  Bayern Munich and Liverpool.

The Germany international is undecided on his future but Leipzig’s new terms would allow him to join Barcelona, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City, PSG, Juventus or Bayern in the future if they paid €70m (£60.9m).

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly eyeing a new striker in the summer, which would allow him to play Mohamed Salah out wide in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Werner among those being considered by the Premier League leaders.

Leipzig will almost certainly have to sell Werner in the summer if the 22-year-old indicates he does not want to renew with the club. Werner has scored 11 goals in 18 league appearances, though has netted all of his goals in just six of those matches.

In fact, only Robert Lewandowski (14) has missed more clear-cut goalscoring chances than Werner (12) in the Bundesliga this season.
