Napoli dealt set back in pursuit of World Cup winner

Napoli may be forced to look elsewhere for a defensive midfielder after the agent of Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Christoph Kramer revealed the German World Cup Winner does not want to go to the Serie A leaders.

Maurizio Sarri’s side were reportedly chasing a £11m to sign Kramer as they look to bolster their squad ahead of the conclusion of the season.

However, the deal looks to be off the table now after his agent Gerd vom Bruch quashed the deal in an interview with German publication Kicker.

“There haven’t been any negotiations since the days of [Rafa] Benitez,” Kramer’s agent said. “The player doesn’t want to go to Napoli.”
