Manchester United target happy where he is

James Maddison has dropped a huge hint that he will stay at Leicester this summer despite interest from Premier League rivals Manchester United. 

United are expected to be busy in the transfer market and have been linked with a host of big name signings from the across Europe, notably Maddison, Aston Villa's Jack Grealish and Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho. 

Leicester are under no pressure to sell Maddison, so could command a top fee for the England international were they to cash in on the attacker. 

The 23-year-old's future at the King Power Stadium has been uncertain amidst speculation over a possible exit, yet he has given a clear indication that he sees his future at the club. 

"If I think back four years ago, I was on loan at Aberdeen from Norwich and now I’m playing every week in the Premier League and that’s all I always wanted to do," Maddison told LCFC TV via The Mirror on Sunday. 

"Sometimes stuff like this [the coronavirus outbreak] can make you really reflect and be proud of myself that I’ve got to this level and obviously look forward now. 

"It’s not ideal, but this will give us time to reflect on what’s happened, whereas normally you can only think about what’s forward because it’s the next game… where are the next points coming from? 

"It’s been a whirlwind two years and I’ve loved every second of it. I feel right at home at Leicester. I feel like part of the furniture already and I love it here. 

"I love the lads, I love the fans, [we’ve got] a great manager, so I’m very, very happy."  

Maddison has scored six goals and provided three assists in the Premier League this season, yielding a WhoScored rating of 7.34 in the process.
