Arsenal deny approach for rising Bundesliga star

Arsenal have denied reports claiming they have offered Borussia Dortmund Thomas Tuchel the chance to replace Arsene Wenger at the end of the season, reports BBC Sport.

Wenger’s future at the club is still uncertain but is set to be made clear imminently after the Frenchman announced he had made a decision in the wake of Arsenal’s 3-1 defeat to West Brom.

However, it has now emerged that Wenger has actually decided to prolong his time at Arsenal rather than way away from the club after 21 years, which would seemingly counter suggestions from Germany that the Premier League outfit have approached Tuchel.

The Dortmund head coach has quickly built a reputation as one of the most promising young managers on the continent and had emerged as one of several possible candidates to replace Wenger when it seemed the 67-year-old was on his way out.

Since replacing Jurgen Klopp as Dortmund manager at the start of last season, Tuchel has won an impressive 66% of his matches in charge of the Bundesliga giants.
