Championship side make January move for Joe Hart

Preston North End are keen to sign Burnley goalkeeper Joe Hart this month, claims The Sun.

Hart only joined Burnley from Manchester City over the summer but has lost his place in the team following the return to fitness of Tom Heaton and Nick Pope.

Sean Dyche faces a difficult task to keep all three of his English goalkeepers happy for the remainder of the season.

Preston manager Alex Neil has made signing a new shot-stopper a priority this month and hopes to prise Hart away from Burnley on loan.

The Championship outfit allowed Chris Maxwell to join Charlton on loan earlier this month and now need another man between the sticks.

Preston are currently 17th in the Championship and have conceded 43 goals in their 26 league matches thus far, only Ipswich (46) have shipped more.

Of goalkeepers to have made at least 10 appearances in the Premier League this season, only two have a worse save success rate than Hart (63.1%).
