Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivere has revealed the Ligue 1 outfit have rejected a bid from Roma for midfielder Jean Michael Seri.
The Ivory Coast international has been heavily linked with a move away from Nice this summer after enjoying an outstanding campaign for Lucien Favre this season with Barcelona among the sides reportedly interested in his services.
However, Nice have no interest in letting one of their best players leave the club and Rivere has reiterated their stance on the 25-year-old after turning down Roma’s bid for the central midfielder.
“For Seri, we have received an offer from AS Roma but nothing from Barcelona or Paris Saint-Germain. We want to keep him,” he told RMC, via Get French Football.
Seri has spent the last two years at Nice after joining from Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira in 2015 and the Ivorian has developed into the complete midfielder.
The Nice No.6 played a direct hand in 16 league goals from central midfielder (seven goals, nine assists), while completing 89.5% of the 83.4 passes he averaged per game. He also impressed with a WhoScored rating of 7.23.
In fact, only Morgan Sanson (14) and Thomas Lemar (10) provided more assists in Ligue 1 this season, while only PSG duo Thiago Motta (91.5) and Marco Verratti (87.5) averaged more passes per game.
