West Ham interested in loan deal for England international
West Ham are interested in offering Joe Hart with a way out of Manchester City but can only afford to strike a loan deal for the out of favour goalkeeper, reports Sky Sports.
Hart is free to leave City this summer following the £32m arrival of Ederson from Benfica but the 29-year-old admitted after England’s 2-2 draw with Scotland that he is still waiting to receive his first offer.
The England international spent last season on loan at Torino but the Serie A side could not afford his £110,000-a-week wages to even comprehend making the deal permanent, while all of the top Premier League sides are all set with their current goalkeepers.
It means Hart faces the prospect of playing for a Premier League side that will not be competing for Europe let alone the league title for the first time in his career, but he is already running out of options and isn’t in a position where he can cherry pick his next move.
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic is keen to address his goalkeeping position after switching between Adrian and Darren Randolph between the sticks last season and is interested in making a loan move for Hart.
The Hammers have already signed Hart’s former City teammate Pablo Zabaleta this summer but they would not be able to afford to buy the goalkeeper outright and then match his City wages, ruling out the possibility of the permanent deal.
In Serie A last season only Palermo goalkeeper Josip Posavec (7) committed more errors that directly led to an opposition goal in Serie A than Hart (5).
