Debut to remember for Ligue 1 Star Performer of the week
Oussama Tannane endured a perfect full-debut for Saint-Etienne as Christophe Galtier’s men enjoyed their biggest league away in since April 2012 (vs Caen) when they thrashed Bordeaux 4-1 on Sunday.
Saint-Etienne only signed the 21-year-old from Eredivisie outfit Heracles in the January transfer window and after being afford a 17-minute outing in their 1-0 win over Rennes in midweek, Galtier let the Netherlands Under-21 international loose from the start and was rewarded for his decision.
Tannane finished the game as the WhoScored man of the match and the highest rated player across the weekend’s action in Ligue 1 (8.87). The Moroccan-born wideman scored his first goal and registered an assist on his full-debut for Les Verts.
No player on display at the Stade de Bordeaux created more chances than Tannane (3). He, however, was not only a threat on the attack, but he was also diligent in his defensive duties, completing a combined 3 tackles and interceptions in his 79-minute performance.
Tannane was also joined in the Ligue 1 Team of the Week by two other teammates, as Saint-Etienne strung together back-to-back wins drew them level with Nice in third place.
