Paris Saint-Germain have earmarked Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge as a possible candidate to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani this summer, claims The Daily Mail.
Laurent Blanc’s side are likely to part ways with Ibrahimovic or Cavani (perhaps both) this summer and will be in the market for a new striker.
PSG have regularly been linked with a move for Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo, but that would appear unlikely this summer and they have set their sights on Sturridge as a result.
The Ligue 1 champions are even willing to pay a staggering £45m for the Liverpool frontman, who has been plagued with injuries over the last two years.
PSG will send a delegation to watch the 26-year-old in action when England play the Netherlands at Wembley on Tuesday before ramping up their interest in the striker in the summer.
Of players to have scored at least 10 goals since the start August 2013, only former Liverpool teammate Luis Suarez (95.6 mins) and Sergio Aguero (99.4 mins) have done so at a quicker rate than Sturridge (108.6 mins).
