Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno says he is in ‘good talks’ with several clubs, including his own, with his €18m (£14m) release clause due to expire on Saturday.
Leno, who still has two years left to run on his current deal, has previously been mooted with a move to the likes of Real Madrid in the past.
However, any club keen to secure his services this summer will need to act fast if they want to sign the Germany international at a cut-price deal before his release clause is rendered redundant on Sunday.
The 24-year-old spoke about his future following their thrilling 3-2 win over Schalke at the weekend that effectively confirmed their place in the Champions League next season and while he is in talks with other clubs he is adamant that no decision has been made on his future.
“I am currently in good talks, also with Bayer,” Leno is quoted as saying by ESPN.
Leno has been Leverkusen’s No.1 man between the sticks since breaking onto the scene in 2011. However since then no player has made more errors that have directly lead to a goal in the Bundesliga than Leno (17).
