West Brom have announced they have appointed Alan Pardew as their new full-time manager on two-and-a-half-year deal.
The Baggies have been looking to appoint a new manager since sacking Tony Pulis over a week ago and have now handed Pardew a route back into management.
Pardew has been out of work since being sacked as Crystal Palace manager in December last year and is now tasked with steering the club away from the bottom three.
“I’m thrilled with the opportunity Albion have provided and looking forward to getting to work with what I consider to be a talented group of players,” Pulis told the club’s official website.
“The immediate challenge will be to get the results we need to pull ourselves up the table. But I’m aware that while I’m joining one of the great, traditional clubs of English football, it is one determined to go forward in the Premier League.
“It’s an exciting opportunity to play a part in that ambition.”
West Brom managed to steady the flow of results under interim coach Gary Megson, who drew both of his games at the helm, but the Baggies are still only two points above the bottom three.
Pardew, 56, has only won one of his last 11 Premier League matches as manager, losing eight times in that sequence.
