Watford will block Richarlison move to Everton

Watford will block new Everton manager Marco Silva from raiding the club for Richarlison this summer, claims the London Evening Standard.

Silva was sacked as Watford manager in January after becoming distracted by talk of a move to Everton.

The Toffees instead turned to Sam Allardyce but replaced the former England manager with Silva at the end of last month.

Everton will have to sell before they can buy this summer but there have been suggestions Silva wants to prise Richarlison away from Watford.

Silva was influential in Watford signing Richarlison last summer and the Brazilian has since been linked with high profile moves to the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.

However, Watford will block any attempt of Silva’s to reunite with the 21-year-old at Goodison Park, as things have turned sour since the Portuguese’s dismissal at the start of the year.

Richarlison hit the ground running for Watford in his first season at the club, but his form tailed off massively from December.

The Brazilian played a direct hand in nine goals (five goals, five assists) in the league, but was only responsible for one goal involvement in his last 27 appearances in all competitions (one assist).

No player was fouled more times in the Premier League last season than Richarlison (95).
