Pep Guardiola rules out Barcelona return

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has ruled out ever returning to manage Barcelona after being linked with Luis Enrique’s job at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona are expected to change their manager in the summer with Luis Enrique tipped to depart the club and there were suggestions Guardiola could make a sensational return to his former club.

The Spaniard enjoyed huge success at Barcelona during his first real stint as a manager and arguably formed one of the best side’s ever seen in football, but he has no desire to ever return to the club.

“I will never go back to Barcelona to be coach there,” Sky Sports quote Guardiola as saying. “My period there is gone.

“Barcelona are still the best team in the world. It’s always a surprise because they are so, so good, but in football anything can happen.”

Guardiola is currently looking to get City back on track after what has been an underwhelming maiden campaign in England. The Citizens are back in second after three straight wins and are now eight points behind leaders Chelsea.
