Chelsea weighing up stunning £100m bid for Everton duo
Chelsea are interested in signing Everton duo Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley in the summer and could even pay out £100m for their services, reports The Daily Telegraph.
The current Premier League leaders are set for huge investment at the end of the season as Antonio Conte continues to shape his squad with the return of Champions League football in mind.
Chelsea sold Lukaku to Everton in 2014 for £28m but were heavily linked with the Belgium international last summer and are thought to have rekindled their interest following the striker’s stunning change of heart at Goodison Park last weekend.
With Diego Costa’s long-term future still uncertain at Stamford Bridge, coupled with Michy Batshuayi’s disappointing first campaign at the club, Conte will almost certainly need to sign at least one striker but they might be forced to make Lukaku one of the Premier League’s most expensive ever signings to re-sign him.
However, Lukaku is not the only Everton player on Chelsea’s radar, with the Blues also monitoring contract talks with Barkley ahead of a summer move. Ronald Koeman has already confirmed the club are planning contract talks with their No.8 with Barkley approaching the final 12 months of his current deal.
Chelsea are interested in the duo and are considering a £100m offer to convince Everton to part ways with their star assets. Lukaku and Barkley have combined to score 23 goals in the Premier League this season, which represents almost half of the goals Everton have scored as a team (48.9%).
