Leroy Sane was cut from Germany’s squad for the 2018 World Cup due to attitude problems, claims The Sun.
Joachim Low, who instead opted to include Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt in his 23-man squad, surprisingly axed the Manchester City star.
Sane played an integral part in City’s league and cup double last season and was crowned the PFA Young Player of the Year.
The 22-year-old was even tipped to start for Die Mannschaft in Russia but now it has emerged his attitude during Germany’s preparations have cost him a place in the squad altogether.
Sane turned in an abject performance during Germany’s shock 2-1 defeat to Austria at the weekend and Low reportedly fear upsetting other members of the squad by taking the youngster to Russia.
The City forward was one of only five Premier League players that played a direct hand in at least 10 goals and assists last season (10 goals, 15 assists).
Not only that, but he finished the season as the highest WhoScored rated German in Europe's top five leagues (7.54).
