The French Football Federation have announced Didier Deschamps has signed a new contract running until 2020.
Deschamps’ previous deal was due to expire after the 2018 World Cup in Russia but he has now penned a new contract that will run beyond the 2020 European Championships.
The 49-year-old was appointed France head coach after Les Bleus were eliminated by Spain in the quarterfinals of Euro 2012 and has since led his country through two major tournaments.
France were knocked out by Germany at the quarterfinals of the 2014 World Cup, before guiding them through to the final of Euro 2016, which was hosted on home soil.

Deschamps has had his critics and it would be a huge waste if he fails to deliver major tournament success given the riches at his disposal and now he will have two more major tournaments to try his luck.
In charge of France, Deschamps has won 62.3% of his matches, scoring 133 goals compared to 57 conceded.
