City make their move for Juve defender

Manchester City have made a £28.2m bid for Juventus full-back Alex Sandro, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Premier League outfit reportedly tabled the bid in the wake of their 1-0 defeat to Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday following Sandro’s impressive display.

Sandro was previously linked with a move to the Etihad over the summer but Manuel Pellegrini’s men missed out on their man with Juventus snatching up the Porto left-back before they could conclude any sort of deal.

Juventus would be unwilling to part way with the Brazilian, who is very much regarded as Patrice Evra’s long-term successor.

The 24-year-old has been forced to be patient for his chances since joining over the summer, but has earned the WhoScored man of the match award in three of his last four appearances for the club.
