United defender not heading to Italy, insists agent

The agent of Manchester United defender Marcus Rojo has slammed reports suggesting his client could be leaving for Napoli in January.

Rojo, 25, reportedly rejected the chance to be used as a makeweight in the deal to sign Anthony Martial from Monaco over the summer.

The Argentina international has struggled to nail down a regular berth since signing from Sporting Lisbon last year, but will not give up on his United career with his agent, Carlos Goncalves, refuting claims linking his client to Napoli.

“There is no need to talk about it [leaving for Napoli]. The player is happy at United and has no intention of leaving the club,” Goncalves told TalkSPORT.

Only Ander Herrera (2.8) and Antonio Valencia (3) averaged more tackles per game for United in the Premier League last season than Rojo (2.4).
