Sunderland goalkeeper attracting Everton interest

Everton are keen to bring Sunderland shotstopper Jordan Pickford to Goodison Park, though face stuff competition for his signature, reports the Daily Mail.

Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool are all in the market for a new goalkeeper and would happily take advantage of the Black Cats’ potential relegation to lure the youngster away from the north east.

Everton have been keeping tabs on Pickford for some time now and would be willing to spend big over the summer to sign the 22-year-old.

Sunderland are unlikely to hold onto their academy product, even if they stave off relegation, such has been Pickford’s form this season.

Indeed, a WhoScored.com rating of 7.09 is enough to earn a place in the Premier League team of the season so far.

Arsenal and Manchester City are willing to delve into the market to improve their goalkeeping issues, with Petr Cech and Claudio Bravo, respectively, struggling to make an impact this term.

Pickford, who is set to be included in this month's England squad, has made 79 saves in the Premier League this season, the fourth best in England’s top tier, despite missing two months of the campaign with a knee injury.
