Shanghai Shenhua have confirmed they have signed Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin.
Guarin, 29, has been heavily linked with a move to the Chinese Super League and he had originally been in talks with Jiansu Suning before instead opting to join Demba Ba and Tim Cahill at Shenhua.
The Colombia international has joined for a reported £10m on the day that league rivals Suning announced the £25m signing of Ramires from Premier League champions Chelsea.
“Shanghai Shenhua have reached an agreement with Inter for the transfer of Fredy Guarin,” the club posted on it’s website.
“The player, a current Colombia international has officially joined Shenhua."
Guarin has spent the last four years at Inter but has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth under Roberto Mancini this season.
He quickly established himself as a player that likes to take long powerful shots from distance and it is therefore no surprise to find out that only three players have hit the target from outside the box with more shots than Guarin since August 2012 (47).
