PSG striker targetted if Conte takes over Chelsea reins

Chelsea will approach Edinson Cavani if Antonio Conte takes over the reins at Stamford Bridge this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Conte is widely expected to succeed Guus Hiddink when the Dutchman's time at the club comes to an end at the end of the season, with reports suggesting the deal could be confirmed in the coming days.

Speculation has suggested Chelsea will make a final approach for Mauricio Pochettino, though any move seems to be dead in water.

And should Conte take charge as is expected, his first signing will be Cavani, with the Uruguayan expected to depart PSG this summer.

With Diego Costa tipped to depart, Cavani would come in as the Spain international's replacement on the frontline.

While the 29-year-old has struggled for consistency this season, Cavani still has 12 goals in Ligue 1 to his name.
