Real Madrid star on Manchester United’s radar

Manchester United are interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro, with the Premier League side keeping tabs on the Brazilian, reports Spanish publication Diario Gol.

The 25-year-old has established himself as a key man for Zinedine Zidane, with the Brazil international crucial in their domestic and continental success last season.

Real Madrid would be reluctant to cash in on Casemiro given his importance to the Spanish giants, yet United boss Jose Mourinho is keen on bringing the tough-tackling midfielder to Old Trafford.

United spent big to sign Nemanja Matic over the summer to bolster their midfield options, though Mourinho is hoping to improve further in the middle of the park next year.

Indeed, the Premier League giants, who are in action against Tottenham today, have made Casemiro a top target in their bid to return to the summit of England’s top tier.

Casemiro has once more been a key player for Los Blancos this season having made more tackles (18) than any other Champions League player.

Real Madrid, though, could look to strike a deal that would see a United player move to Madrid, with David De Gea a long standing target for the Spanish champions.
