Hull break club-transfer record

Hull City have announced they have broken their club transfer record to sign Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason.

Mason, 25, has dropped down the pecking order at Tottenham since Mauricio Pochettino’s arrival and has been heavily linked with a move away as a result.

Sunderland were interested in the former England international but it’s Hull, who desperately need new players, that he has chosen to sign with on a three-year deal.

“I’m delighted and excited to be here,” Mason told Hull’s official website. “I can’t wait to get started and I see this as a massive opportunity for me.”

Mason only started eight matches in the league last season having started 29 in his breakout campaign.
