Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas has agreed to reopen talks with Liverpool for Nabil Fekir at the request of the France international, reports The Daily Mirror.
Fekir was on the brink of signing for Liverpool on the eve of the 2018 World Cup before talks sensationally collapsed.
Liverpool were not satisfied with the results from Fekir’s medical and tried to re-structure previously agreed terms on a £53m deal.
Lyon were not willing to entertain new negotiations and sensationally announced talks between the two clubs were over and Fekir would stay at the club next season.
However, it has now emerged that Aulas has agreed to entertain talks with Liverpool after sit down talks with Fekir’s representative Jean-Pierre Bernes earlier this month.
Fekir is determined to secure a dream move to Liverpool this summer but the Merseyside outfit will only sign the 24-year-old if Lyon are willing to change the terms of the deal.
The Lyon captain enjoyed a breathtaking campaign last term and has been identified as the perfect replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who joined Barcelona in January.
Fekir scored 18 goals and provided eight assists from 30 league appearances last season, while also picking up the WhoScored Man of the Match award on 12 occasions.
