Danish defender swaps Lyon for Fulham

Fulham have announced the deadline day loan capture of centre-back Joachim Andersen from French side Lyon.

Fulham have been in the market for a new centre-back and were heavily linked with a move for Inter defender Milan Skriniar.

However, the west London side have since confirmed the arrival of Andersen from the French side.

"The Club is delighted to announce the loan signing of centre-back Joachim Andersen from Lyon," a statement read on the club's official website.

"The highly rated Denmark international, 24, will remain at Fulham for the duration of the 2020/21 campaign."

On his move, Andersen said: "I’m really happy to make this move. I’m looking forward to playing in the Premier League and playing for a nice club like Fulham.

"It’s a league I’ve been following since I was a child and it’s a big, big dream to play in the Premier League, so I’m looking forward to it."

Fulham boss Scott Parker will be hoping Andersen can shore up a defence that has shipped 11 league goals this season, and currently foots the Premier League after four games.
