Manchester City are interested in signing Alexis Sanchez this summer and could look to make the most of suggestions he has fallen out with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger in a bid to lure him away from the Emirates, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Sanchez, 28, was dropped to the bench for Arsenal’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at the weekend after storming out of training and exchanging choice words with some of his teammates in the changing room in the week building up to last Saturday’s defeat.
The Chile international is now almost certainly going to leave Arsenal at the end of the season when he will only have 12 months remaining on his existing deal and the Gunners will be keen to ensure he will only leave the country if they fail to convince him to sign a new deal.
However, Pep Guardiola is keen to reunite with Sanchez having previously worked together at Barcelona and the tenacious forward is certainly a player that would bring all of the principles the Spaniard looks for in his offensive players.
Sanchez has gone off the boil in recent weeks but he has still be indispensible to Arsenal this season. In fact, only Jermain Defoe (58.3%) has scored a larger proportion of his team’s goals than Sanchez in the Premier League this season (48.6%).
