Stoke City are set to offer Jack Butland a new deal that will double his money to ward of expected interest in the summer, according to The Daily Mirror.
Butland, 22, has been in exceptional form for the Potters this season, particularly during the first half of the season where his performances single handily kept Mark Hughes’ side in the game at times.
The England international still has three years left remaining on the deal he agreed at the beginning of last year but Stoke are understandably keen to reward the highly rated goalkeeper with improved terms to ward off interest from rival clubs in the summer.
Stoke have opened talks with Butland’s representatives with a view to offer their No.1 man between the sticks with a contract in excess of £50,000-a-week.
Since the start of the season, Butland has made more saves than any other goalkeeper in the Premier League (89).
