Juventus to sign Italy starlet

Juventus are due to announce Domenico Berardi’s return from Sassuolo on Wednesday, according to Italian newspaper Il Resto del Carlino, via Football Italia.

Max Allegri’s side made the surprise decision to sell their share of Berardi to Sassuolo sold their share of Berardi last summer but have an option to buy the Italy Under-21 international for €25m (£19.7m).

Juventus were heavily linked with the Sassuolo star throughout the last campaign and are now expected to complete a deal this week, with Rolando Mandragora and Gianluca Caprari going to Sassuolo in return.

Last season was by no means Berardi’s most productive but he is nevertheless expected to feature prominently for Italy in the future and his exclusion from Antonio Conte’s squad for the Euro 2016 was met with widespread disappointment.
