Barcelona hold talks with Manchester United target

Manchester United face a fight to sign Paris Saint-Germain right-back Serge Aurier after Barcelona held talks with his representatives 10 days ago, reports L’Equipe, via Get French Football

Aurier has dropped down the pecking order under Unai Emery this season and could be on the move in the summer with his current deal due to expire in 2019 and he would not be short of suitors should he be free to leave the reigning Ligue 1 champions.

Reports emerged earlier this week suggesting Aurier had given his word to Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho to join the Red Devils in the summer as the United boss seeks defensive reinforcements in the summer.

However, Barcelona have made signing a right-back a top priority at the end of the season after failing to find a replacement for Dani Alves last summer and the club’s head of international scouting, Ariedo Braida, reportedly met with Aurier’s representatives to discuss a potential move to the Camp Nou.

Aurier has started 18 league games this season for PSG and registered three assists in that time, while also proving he can play at centre-back.
