Sissoko could be set for France return

Moussa Sissoko’s time at Newcastle could be coming to an end with PSG the latest side to show an interest in the France international, reports the Daily Mirror.

Sissoko, who has been given an extended leave of absence following France’s Euro 2016 performances and so played no part in Newcastle’s 1-0 defeat to Fulham, is widely expected to leave St. James’ Park this summer following the club’s relegation.

Manchester United and Real Madrid have been been credited with an interest in the 26-year-old, while Juventus considered making an approach once Paul Pogba’s return to Old Trafford is confirmed, but PSG are believed to be frontrunners in the race to secure his services.

The French champions, however, are waiting on Pogba’s move to United to be confirmed before making a move for Sissoko, with it thought that the Frenchman’s switch to the Premier League would see Juventus move for PSG’s Blaise Matuidi, which in turn would fund the move for Sissoko.

A potential stumbling block, though, is Newcastle’s asking price for Sissoko, with the club demanding £35m on the back of his superb showings at Euro 2016.
