Burnley have announced the signing of midfielder Josh Brownhill from Bristol City.
The 24-year-old has penned a four-and-a-half year contract, running until the summer of 2024, to bolster the Clarets' midfield ranks following the termination of Danny Drinkwater's loan deal earlier in the month.
Brownhill has been an ever present for Bristol City across the last two and a half seasons, missing just three of a possible 121 Championship matches in that time, and has worn the captain's armband for the Robins on a number of occasions this term.
Sean Dyche will hope his new recruit can add goals from an area of the pitch where Burnley have been severely lacking for some time, with Brownhill scoring five times in each of his previous three seasons in the second tier.

“It’s a really good feeling to be at Burnley. It’s a big football club with a great fan base,” said Brownhill.
“Every time I’ve played here it’s been nice to play at Turf Moor and I’m really excited.
"I can’t wait to put on the shirt and play football. Whenever I get the chance, then I’ll be ready to take it.”
