Yohan Cabaye has revealed that no “big” teams were interested in signing him before he joined Crystal Palace this summer.
Alan Pardew’s side broke their club-record transfer record (£12m) to sign Cabaye from Paris Saint-Germain and the France international admits it was not a difficult decision to reunite with Pardew.
“No one from the big clubs came forward, but it’s not a default choice [signing for Palace] – far from it,” Cabaye told Canal Football Club.
“I have been reunited with my former coach and I was not heading into the unknown. I feel really good.”
Cabaye has made an instant impact since arriving at Selhurst Park having gained the highest WhoScored rating (7.56) of Palace players to have featured in more than one Premier League game this season.
