David Silva is poised to sign a new Manchester City deal extending his stay at the Etihad until 2020, claims The Daily Mail.
The 31-year-old’s current deal is due to expire in 2019 but Pep Guardiola’s side are growing increasingly hopeful Silva will agree to prolong his City career by a further 12 months.
Silva has established himself as one of the club’s best ever players since joining from Valencia in 2010 but there were concerns the Spain international would not agree new personal terms.
However, City have reportedly made a significant breakthrough in negotiations and are now confident Silva will agree a new £150,000-a-week contract.
Only Andres Guardado has provided as many assists as Silva (both six) in Europe’s top five leagues this season.
