Manchester City weighing up move for Italian teenager

Manchester City are interested in signing Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali this summer, reports Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness.

The 19-year-old is one of the most coveted youngsters on the continent, despite Brescia's perilous position in Serie A.

They may foot the table, yet Tonali has a lengthy list of admirers across Europe, with City now hoping they can lure him to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Brescia are believed to have slapped a €50m asking price on the teenager, but with so many sides interested in Tonali, they are hoping to command a higher fee for their prized asset.

However, the worldwide break in football due to the Coronavirus outbreak means they may have to settle for a lower fee for Tonali.

Brescia are expected to be relegated this season, even if football does continue at a later date, but Tonali can expect to ply his trade in a top league regardless, be that in Italy or abroad.

Maximising a statistically calculated WhoScored strength of 'dribbling', Tonali's dribble success rate of 80% is the third best of those to have attempted 40 or more dribbles in Serie A this season.
