Juventus will step up their interest in Emre Can in January after missing out on the Liverpool midfielder this summer, reports Corriere dello Sport, via Football Italia.
The Serie A champions were heavily linked with a move for Can throughout the summer but failed to prise the Germany international away from Anfield despite the fact he has entered the final 12 months of his existing deal.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has already revealed his frustrations that the club have not been able to convince Can to sign a new long-term deal and now they look to be fighting a losing battle.
The arrival of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will only inhibit first team opportunities for Can this season, while Liverpool have already secured the services of RB Leipzig star Naby Keita for next summer.
Juventus are ready to test Liverpool’s resolve again when the January transfer window opens, as they aim to get a cut-price deal over the line, but that will depend on whether Max Allegri’s side qualify for the knockout phase of the Champions League.
Since the start of last season, only Christian Benteke (88) has committed more fouls in the Premier League than Can (74).
