United hope to bring former striker back to Old Trafford

Manchester United are eyeing up a move for former striker Cristiano Ronaldo, reports the Sunday Express.

The Real Madrid star has been in impressive form of late with his four goals scored in the 7-1 win over Celta Vigo on Saturday taking him to 27 for the season, more than any other player in Europe's top five leagues.

However, his good performances hasn't halted speculation suggesting that the Portugal international will be on his way out of the Bernabeu at the end of the season.

United hope to bring former striker back to Old Trafford

Los Blancos are set to undergo a major squad overhaul in the summer in their bid to close the gap between themselves and current title favourites Barcelona

With current manager Zinedine Zidane looking to build his squad around Gareth Bale, that could see Ronaldo shown the exit door in the Spanish capital with United understandably keen to bring Ronaldo, 31, back to Old Trafford.
