Sanchez on verge of permanent transfer away from Man Utd

Alexis Sanchez is on the brink of securing a permanent move from Manchester United to Inter, reports The Daily Mirror.

The Chile international has agreed to rip up his eye-watering £500,000-a-week contract with United and agree a three-year deal with Inter reportedly worth £120,000-a-week after tax.

United, who have also agreed a settlement with Sanchez on his remaining two years, will waiver any fee with Inter and let the 31-year-old move on a free transfer.

Keeping Sanchez at United for the final two years of his contract would have cost the Red Devils around £55m in wages.

Offloading the veteran forward will also help accomodate United's impending capture of Jadon Sancho, who will reported earn in excess of £200,000-a-week at Old Trafford.

Inter play Getafe in the Europa League on Wednesday night and Sanchez's current loan deal is due to expire on Friday.

However, Sanchez has been included in Inter's squad for the match and Antonio Conte's side expect to announce his permanent arrival imminently.

Sanchez finished the 2019/20 Serie A campaign with four goals and eight assists despite only starting 10 games from his 22 appearances.

In fact, Sanchez managed to play a direct hand in more league goals in one season at Inter (12) than he did during his first 18 months at United (9).
