Following the signing of Turkish youngster Cengiz Under, Roma are still hoping to agree a deal for another wing wizard in the form of Riyad Mahrez according to Mediaset.
The Serie A side have already made contact with the player’s agent and the Algerian is reportedly open to the move, though a fee is yet to be agreed between the two clubs.
The 2015/16 Premier League champions are believed to be holding out for a fee of £44m for the 26-year-old, who is keen to move away despite signing a new contract last year, with Roma now at the front of the queue.
Barcelona and Arsenal were both linked with the Foxes flyer last year but neither have come in with concrete offers this time around following a drop off in performances for the former PFA Player of the Year.
Mahrez scored 6 goals and registered just three assists in the league last season - down from 17 and 11 respectively in the previous campaign - but his form in the Champions League in particular has seemingly done enough to convince Roma to spend big on his signature.
The winger was Leicester’s highest rated player in Europe last season (7.41), with 4 goals and 2 assists in 9 appearances.
