Man City at risk of Koulibaly joining PSG

Paris Saint-Germain are seriously rivalling Manchester City for Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, claims The Daily Telegraph.

City have been heavily linked with a move for Koulibaly all summer but are reluctant to even discuss his transfer with Napoli.

The Premier League giants are still furious with Napoli in the aftermarth of Jorginho's move to Chelsea in 2018.

Personal terms have reportedly been agreed by City and Koulibaly but Pep Guardiola's side saw a bid for Sevilla's Jules Kounde rejected over the weekend.

Now City are in danger of watching Koulibaly join PSG, as Thomas Tuchel's side have earmarked the centre-back as their ideal replacment for Thiago Silva.

Silva joined Chelsea on a free transfer earlier in the summer and Tuchel has called for PSG to sign a replacement as quickly as possible.

Koulibaly, who bought property in Paris earlier this year, has been considered one of Europe's best centre-backs for a number of years now but his reputation did take a hit last season.

The Senegal international was limited to just 24 starts in Serie A in 2019/20 and finished a league campaign with Napoli with a WhoScored rating below 7.00 for the first time.
