Manchester United star Pogba agrees personal terms with Barcelona

Paul Pogba has agreed a stunning £350,000-a-week contract with Barcelona and has told Manchester United chief Ed Woodward he wants to leave, claims The Daily Mail.

The 25-year-old only returned to United two years ago but his relationship with Jose Mourinho has strained and now the France international and his agent, Mino Raiola, are angling for a stunning move away this summer.

Barcelona have already had a £45m bid plus Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes turned down by the Premier League giants but the Spanish champions do not intend to stop there.

Pogba’s relationship with Mourinho was not in a good place towards the end of last season and Mourinho's comments about his performances during the 2018 World Cup have only unsettled the midfielder further.

Raiola understands the chances of United letting Pogba leave when the transfer deadline for English clubs shuts on Thursday are slim and Mourinho’s side may be forced to hand the World Cup winner a blockbuster new deal.

Alexis Sanchez is currently the highest earner at the club on reported £500,000-a-week wages and United will have to align Pogba’s salary with the Chile international, which means an increase of around £200,000-a-week.

United have no interest in selling Pogba but the next 12 months will define how long the former Juventus midfielder will stay at Old Trafford.

Pogba’s performances has been heavily criticised since returning to England but United’s best moments have usually revolved around him. In fact, only four players provided more assists than Pogba in the Premier League last season (10).
