Former Liverpool midfielder Can unhappy at Juventus

Emre Can has used the international break to express his unhappiness at Juventus.

The Germany international is in his second season at Juventus after joining the Serie A giants on a free transfer in the summer of 2018.

Can ran down his contract with Liverpool to secure a Bosman transfer to Juventus but his career is yet to get going in Turin.

His first season was disrupted with injury and the 25-year-old has been forced to the fringes under new manager Maurizio Sarri.

Can started Germany's 2-2 draw with Argentina on Wednesday night and afterwards spoke of his frustations at club level.

"I'm not happy (at Juventus) right now," The Daily Mail quote Can as saying after the draw. "I'm not playing much at the moment. I played a lot last season, especially in important matches, for Juventus, and I also played well.

"I haven't had a chance this season but now I think that, when I return to the club (after the international break), I'll have a shot at playing again.

"I'm definitely grateful to (Germany head coach) Joachim Low because I hadn't played much and he still called me up. That's why I was simply happy to have played again."

At the start of September, Can sensationally claimed the club went against their word and axed him from their squad for the Champions League group stage.

Can completed more minutes (90) in Germany's encounter with Argentina in midweek than he has in Serie A this season (79).

The former Liverpool midfielder has been limited to just three substitute appearances in the league this season and faces increased competition for places from summer signings Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey.

Since the beginning of last season, Juventus have lost three of the 20 league matches Can has started compared to just one defeat from the 25 games he has not started.
