Everton look to MLS as Lukaku replacement

Everton are eying up a move for Orlando City striker Cyle Larin as a replacement for wantaway striker Romelu Lukaku, reports the Sun.

The Belgium international, who has scored more goals (21) than any other Premier League player this season, is set to leave Goodison Park at the end of the season after turning down a new contract.

A host of teams across Europe are expected to firm up their reported interest in the 23-year-old when the transfer window opens, with Everton set to at least double the £28m they paid to sign him permanently in 2014.

And Everton could use the funds raised to move for Canada international Larin, who has impressed in MLS.

The 21-year-old striker has three goals to his name this season and has netted 34 goals in 61 league appearances for Orlando City.

The Lions are understandably keen to retain the services of their star striker, yet could be powerless to stop Everton signing Larin should the young frontman look to leave the club over the summer.

Besiktas, Benfica and Sporting Lisbon have all been credited with an interest in Larin, though Everton are believed to be in pole position to sign the forward.
