Atletico Madrid prepare huge new deal for Manchester United target

Atletico Madrid are willing to offer Antoine Griezmann a new deal worth in excess of £300,000-a-week, reports The Daily Mirror.

Griezmann only signed a bumper new Atletico deal last summer but the France international has been tipped to leave at the end of the season.

Barcelona and Manchester United are monitoring the 27-year-old’s future in Madrid but Diego Simeone’s side are not going down without a fight.

Atletico are determined to secure Griezmann’s long-term future and are willing to break the bank in order to keep their No.7.

It remains to be seen whether Griezmann will agree to the new terms but it could prove a hammer blow to Barcelona and United’s summer transfer plans.

Griezmann struggled to rediscover his best form at the start of the season but has exploded into life since the turn of the year.

Of the 18 league goals the Frenchman has netted this season, 13 have been converted in 2018. Furthermore, only Cristiano Ronaldo (19) and Lionel Messi (14) have scored more in Europe’s top five leagues in that time.
