PSG ready January move for Arsenal striker

French giants PSG are considering a January move for Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should Edinson Cavani leave this month, reports French publication Foot Mercato.

Barcelona had been courting the Gabon international as they entertained the possibility of signing Aubameyang on loan to cover for Luis Suarez's absence.

The Blaugrana have since cooled their interest in Aubameyang, however Arsenal may have to now fend of PSG for their star striker.

PSG are wary that Cavani could leave this month, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid all interested in the Uruguayan.

Ligue 1 powerhouse PSG are adament that the experienced forward won't leave in January, even if his contract is up in the summer, but Cavani is pushing for a January exit in order to bolster his playing time.

Indeed, Cavani has played second fiddle to Mauro Icardi this season and is unlikely to force his way into the starting XI before the end of the campaign.

And should he leave, PSG are pondering a January move for Aubameyang, who has scored 14 league goals this term and has 18 months left to run on his current deal at the Emirates.
