Barcelona forward Neymar has told fans to remain ‘calm’ and insists he will sign a new contract with the European champions.
Neymar, 23, has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks and his father admitted talks took place between the two clubs in the summer.
However, the Brazil international insists he will remain at the club and urged fans to relax.
“The renewal is underway. I have many years of contract here and I’ll sign, calm,” he told beIN Sports. “The fans have to be calm.”
Neymar, who has taken on added responsibility in the wake of Lionel Messi’s long-term injury, scored four goals in a 5-2 win over Rayo Vallecano on Saturday and is currently the top goalscorer in La Liga (8).
