Chelsea are poised to enter contract talks with Victor Moses following a sensational resurgence into the first team under new manager Antonio Conte, reports Sky Sports.
Moses, 25, has been at Chelsea since joining from Wigan in 2012 but has spent the majority of the resulting four years out on loan with various clubs.
The Nigeria international didn’t appear to have a long-term future at the club but has become a regular in Conte’s new 3-4-3 formation as a right wing-back.
Moses still has three years left to run on his existing deal but Chelsea are reportedly keen to reward his resurgent form with a new contract, even more so now Barcelona are reportedly interested in his services as they look to add competition for Sergi Roberto at right-back.
Chelsea’s technical director Michael Emenalo is reportedly leading the case to tie down Moses’ long-term future after being impressed by his performances this season.
Moses has started in each of Chelsea’s last seven matches since Conte reverted to a 3-4-3 system and Chelsea have won each of those matches to take them top of the Premier League. In fact, Conte’s side are on the join-best winning streak of any team in Europe’s top five leagues this season (7).
