Arsenal open initial talks for Leicester duo

Arsenal have held preliminary discussions with Leicester with a view to sign star duo Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante in one deal, according to France Football, via Get French Football.

Kante and Mahrez have been two of the stars of the season and there performances have been integral to Leicester’s Premier League winning side.

Mahrez, who was voted PFA Player of the Year last month, is alleged to have told Leicester’s owners he wants to remain at the club next season, whereas Kante is believed to have a £20m buy-out clause and the Foxes are coming to accept they will lose him in the summer.

Arsenal are currently leading a very long list of suitors for the duo, although discussions are only at a very basic level.

Mahrez, 25, is currently the highest rated player in the Premier League (7.85). Not only that, but only teammate Jamie Vardy (30 – 24 goals, six assists) has played a direct hand in more league goals in England’s top tier than Mahrez (28 – 17 goals, 11 assists).
